Exhibition: Varna Road at Ikon Gallery – 27th Jan to 3rd April

Ikon Gallery are currently hosting the largest exhibition to date of photographs by Janet Mendelsohn. As part of a ‘photo-essay’ created when she was studying at the University of Birmingham (1967-69), the photographs show life in inner-city Balsall Heath and Mendelsohn provides a unique insight into the community by using photography as ‘a tool for cultural analysis’.

The exhibition runs from 27 January until 3 April 2016; entry is free, and all are welcome.

Ikon Gallery is open Tuesdays-Sundays 11-5pm, and Bank Holiday Mondays.
