Open call for Visual Artwork @ The Gap- Summer Salon

The GAP is a the newly formed arts centre at the Jubilee Centre in Digbeth and they are looking for under 25’s who are looking for somewhere to exhibit their work.

The GAP is hosting an open, eclectic, salon-style exhibition of artwork all made by young people living in Birmingham and the surrounding area. This is an exciting opportunity for you to have your work exhibited in a city centre arts venue, irrespective of practice, medium or subject matter. Artworks will be displayed collectively in salon-style: our walls will be covered by an eclectic mix of work, juxtaposing artists, and bringing all into conversation with each other.

Exhibition dates: 29th June – 31st August

The summer salon will be a growing exhibition – Artworks will be appearing on the walls from 29th June, but new members will be able to add their work to the collection throughout the duration of the exhibition. However, if you want guaranteed wall space and longest display time, submit work by 26th June.

To book a space email, stating your age, a few sentences introducing yourself, and an image and description of the work you would like to display. So book now to avoid disappointment and to get a guaranteed wall space and longer display time.

The age range of the call out is from 0-25 years old with the arts centre being pram friendly but not 100% wheelchair accessible. Submitters are required to sign up for membership of The GAP in order to have their work included in the exhibition. Anyone can sign up to become a member, and membership prices start from just £5. Membership includes many other benefits, including free use of communal creative workspace, free venue use for own creative projects, free and discounted events, and more!
